拳心會空手道

CLASSES
Time: Every Sunday 6pm - 7.30pm
(Except Public Holidays)
Venue: Tanglin Community Club
If you would like to experience Karate practice, feel free to come by and join us for a free trial class. Subsequently you can sign up for classes through the office at Tanglin Community Club during its office hours.
Our classes cater to men and women of all ages, young and old. Our founder and chief instructor, Sensei Chia, is a certified national coach with decades of experience and possesses a degree in Sports Science from Edith Cowan University. He is supported by a core of mature senior students who all possess experience in teaching and practising Karate.
We believe that Karate practice holds many benefits, particularly for our health and fitness. This is one of our core focuses in the club. Although one may acquire self-defence skills through constant practice, Karate is more than that, as it has the potential to instill a sense of discipline, develop mental strength and build character, if one chooses to stay the path in the long run.
There are three basic components to Karate training:
1. Kihon - The practice of basics, which forms the core of all Karate training
2. Kata - The practice of forms, which contains the entire range of all Karate techniques
3. Kumite - The application of Karate techniques when sparring with a partner
While Karate still remains a martial art and a contact sport, please be assured that the safety and welfare of students during practice is always top priority. Our approach to training is that it should make the person fitter and better at Karate, and not pose a danger to anyone. This is because Karate should not hurt us, but rather sustain and strengthen us.
So feel free to either drop us a message or come by during our classes. You will always be welcome! :)
